Absract. There are various problems in teaching physical geography which relate to the content of the curriculum or the students. Most of the challenges are due to the nature of the topics which are at times abstract in nature, require synthesis of content from other disciplines, and the application of analytical processes. To address these hurdles calls for creative ways of teaching which can include aspects like the use of technology, project based approaches and cross disciplinary teaching. These include the enhancement of learners critical faculties and provision of better teaching aids.
